I had a Sandisc folder that I couldn’t delete. I tried three other delete utilities but none accomplished the task except for this one.
Dr. Delete …
Having trouble deleting:
In-use files? Spyware Components, Index.dat, and other annoying files that are ‘In use’?

I’m blogging this in Windows XP. I installed Windows Vista earlier this week and found that it is incompatible with quite a few programs that I like to use.
I’m busy re-installing software and drivers, and you know that can take hours.
I’ll be back here to blog later tonight.
I’ve discovered that my Rhapsody Music subscription and player will not work in Vista. Blah!
These upgrades always seem to take a lot of attention. I’m going to have to call Dell on my next available day to commit to getting my desktop in proper running order, start over with the original Dell installation of Windows XP, update all the drivers, THEN install Vista upgrade on a seperate partition in a different work environment.
How long is this all going to take? I give myself at least four hours.
The most obvious thing to note about device compatibility out of the box is that about 50 percent of Windows Vista Beta 2 installs do not install sound card drivers out of the box, regardless of the system. (Reader feedback on this issue has been fascinating: Some report no problems at all. For others, sound never works.)
Paul Thurrott’s SuperSite for Windows: Windows Vista Beta 2 Review: Part 4: Compatibility
Yea! It’s like I have a new computer, now that I have Vista installed! It’s like an Apple PC. (I can just hear the Apple fanboys now!) But the installation wasn’t without a couple of hurdles. The most alarming conflict was I had no sound after Vista installed! Sound to me is almost as important as the user interface. But thankfully I ran across the article quoted above by Paul Thurrott that lead me to start hunting for the right driver- and not a new sound card like I initially thought I was going to have to buy.
I downloaded a new driver for Vista 32-bit from Creative for Sound Blaster and it works! It sounds great!
Good luck on the upgrade if you choose to implement the new OS. It looks like I am going to love it- for a while.
